Organizers of the fourth Illustrators Conference (ICON4) in San Francisco wanted to encourage interaction among attendees. To encourage attendees to introduce themselves to each other, they created two personalized print projects using the attendees' own artwork to form the basis of on-site icebreakers. Children have vivid imaginations, but they don't always like to read. What better waay to help a child learn to like reading more than making them the star of their own book? Digital Imagination developed a way to do just that by creating personalized books that afeature illustrated images of the child and the child's name in the text. In the pilot project, 30% of the test market purchased the personalized story books. Published 2005
A non-profit German organization published a history book of pictures and texts for a small market using digital printing as a cost-effective production solution. The group was able to publish a quality book in small quantities. An initial run of 250 books was produced with four reprints of 100 produced on an as-needed basis. Published 2003
