Caslon, a PODi Affiliate 

 

These terms of use have been designed to protect the content and integrity of W. Caslon & Company Inc (“Caslon”) and PODi (“Print On Demand Initiative”) research and documents, and to maintain their value to PODi members.

 

Caslon does not warrant the accuracy of any information on the site and cannot be held liable for any damages incurred by relying on or in association with the web site content. The content of these documents represents Caslon’s interpretation of information generally available to the public or released by responsible individuals in the participating companies, and is not guaranteed as to accuracy or completeness.

 

By downloading documents and reports from this site, you (“You”, “User”) agree to be held by these terms.

 

  1. The reports, white papers, case studies, presentations, spreadsheet and documents contained within this site (collectively, the “Content”) are copyrighted by Caslon, PODi or their affiliates, except where noted. Downloading the Content does not transfer title to the Content, or any intellectual property rights, to the User.
  2. The Content may not be resold without the express written permission of Caslon. An e-mail is not a valid form for this permission.  
  3. The Content may not be altered, transformed or added to, except where customization is allowed in S3 Council and Marketing Operations tools.
  4. No Derivative works allowed.
  5. Caslon may, without notice to you, at any time revise these Terms of Use and any other information contained herein by updating this posting.
  6. Ownership of Content copyrights remains with Caslon and/or PODi whose authority over use and distribution is final; this authority supersedes these or any other documented or implied terms of use.
     

Non-Member Purchasers of Caslon or PODi Content

  1. Non-members who purchase Caslon or PODi Content may use the Content for internal company purposes only.

Special Privileges granted to PODi Members*

  1. Members are encouraged to distribute Caslon and PODi Content internally to employees (in hard copy reprints or electronic form), as long as all employee recipients are informed of these Terms of Use.
  2. If the Content is posted on a Member's internal website (an intranet), or emailed to employees the following link to these Terms of Use must be included in the posting or email: http://www.caslon.net/Terms-of-Use.html
  3. The Content may not be distributed in its entirety outside of the member company in any form without prior arrangement with Caslon, except where noted below with regards to case studies.
  4. Individual case studies downloaded from this site, may be distributed by Members under the following terms:

    a. Members are encouraged to distribute the case study in hard copy form as targeted sales/marketing collateral subject to the limits defined below in “b”. The hard copy must include PODi’s copyright notice and the URL to our Web site http://www.podi.org/.

    b. Members may print up to 2 case studies to be distributed as part of a direct mail campaign as long as PODi is attributed as the source, the PODi copyright notice and the link www.podi.org/casestudy are printed alongside that. A maximum of 12 case studies may be distributed per year.

    c. Members may post on their Web site up to 2 case studies in electronic form for subsequent download as long as the posting includes a reference to PODi as the source of the case study and a link to www.podi.org/casestudy.

    d. Members may alternate which 2 case studies are posted on their Web site as long as the maximum number of cases posted in a year does not exceed 12.

    e. Members may include an excerpt of a case study of up to 200 words in a company newsletter as long as PODi is attributed as the source and a link to www.podi.org/casestudy is provided. A maximum number of 12 case studies may be featured in a newsletter per year.

    f. Members may email up to 4 case studies to a targeted client while in pursuit of a specific project or job. Bulk emailing of case studies is NOT allowed.
  5. Members may use the case studies as defined above. They may NOT provide PODi case studies to other companies or organizations for use in the same manner. For example, a PODi Member may NOT provide a case study to a client or customer who intends to post that case study on their own Web site.
  6. Member rights and obligations pertaining to the use of the Content may not be sold or in any way transferred to any other individual(s), companies, corporations or organizations.
  7. 7. Members are given a PODi Member ID in order to access Content on this site. That Member ID may not be given or shared with anyone outside of the Member company.

Special Privileges granted to Case Study Participants
Participants are companies that participated in the development and/or production of a digital print application that is featured in a PODi case study. This includes the print provider, marketing agency, enterprise client or the vendor that supplied the equipment or software. Participants in a case study may distribute their specific case study under the following terms:

 

  1. Participants in an individual case study project are encouraged to distribute their case study in hard copy form as targeted sales/marketing collateral. The hard copy must include PODi’s copyright notice and the URL to our Web site http://www.podi.org/.
  2. Participants may post their case study on their Web site in electronic form for subsequent download as long as the posting includes a reference to PODi as the source and a link to www.podi.org/casestudy is provided. Participants may post up to 5 of their case studies  from the most recent publication year, and no more than 15 in total in any given year. All the case studies must be the ones which are specific to the participant.
  3. Participants may email their case study to a targeted client while in pursuit of a specific project or job. Bulk emailing of case studies is NOT allowed.
  4. Participants may use their case studies as defined above. The above special privileges are valid only for their specific case study and NOT to the other PODi case studies. Furthermore, they may NOT provide PODi case studies to other companies or organizations for use in the same manner. For example, a participant may NOT provide a case study to a client or customer who intends to post that case study on their own Web site.

User Generated Content
Caslon posts on its Web site two different types of user-generated content(“Submission”):

  1. Content that was created and submitted by PODi members for inclusion in Caslon’s Knowledge Base
  2. Presentations that were given at a PODi AppForum or seminar

Authors (“You”) of this user-generated content retain their copyright to the material. However by submitting this content to Caslon or presenting at the PODi AppForum or seminars (“Posting’), You are granting Caslon, its affiliated companies and necessary sub-licensees permission to use Your Submission in connection with the operation of their businesses (including, without limitation, all Caslon Services), including, without limitation, world-wide, perpetual, royalty-free, transferable  license rights to: copy, distribute, transmit, publicly display, publicly perform, reproduce, edit, create derivative works, translate and reformat Your Submission; to publish Your name in connection with Your Submission; and the right to sublicense such rights to any supplier of the Services.

   

No compensation will be paid with respect to the use of your Submission, as provided herein. Caslon is under no obligation to post or use any Submission you may provide and Caslon may remove any Submission at any time in its sole discretion.

   

By Posting a Submission You warrant and represent that You own or otherwise control all of the rights to Your Submission as described in these Terms of Use including, without limitation, all the rights necessary for You to provide, post, upload, input or submit the Submissions.
